Our Broken Government and War with Iran

Unfortunately too many people do not realize that our government is broken, and has been broken for some time.  It has sadly become clear to me that the key to effective government, or at least non-corrupt, non-power-mad-abides-by-the-rule-of-law government, is divided government.  Let ambition check ambition, if I recall a founding father correctly.  When one party has consolidated control, to the extent the Republicans currently have, overreach and abuse of power is not only inevitable, but immediate in times of crisis.  This has become apparent more than four years from 9/11, and show no signs of slowing down.  The NSA program is merely the latest big example of abuse of power, and the intelligence committee's failure to investigate it the latest example that our government is broken.
